Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 April 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the V2Events platform at v2events.uk ("the Platform"), operated by Version 2 Events Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 17150252), with its registered office at 6 Babylon Grove, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, MK4 4GH ("V2E", "we", "our", "us").
By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Cookie Policy, and our Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree to any of these terms, please do not use the Platform.
For any questions about these Terms, please contact us at support@v2events.uk.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age to use V2Events. By using the Platform, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained the consent of a parent or guardian.
3. Accounts
Account registration and authentication is managed through our provider, Clerk. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or that violate these Terms.
4. Ticket Purchases
4.1 Contract of Sale
When you purchase a ticket through V2Events, you enter into a contract with the event organiser (the "Partner"). V2E acts as an intermediary platform facilitating the transaction and is not a party to the contract between you and the event organiser. The event organiser is responsible for delivering the event as described.
For events created and hosted directly by V2E ("V2E Originals"), V2E is both the platform operator and the event organiser, and your contract is directly with Version 2 Events Ltd.
4.2 Pricing and Fees
All ticket prices are displayed in British Pounds (GBP). V2E charges a platform fee of £0.50 plus 4% per ticket. Depending on the organiser's settings, this fee may be:
- Included within the displayed ticket price (absorbed by the organiser); or
- Added on top of the ticket price and displayed as part of the total payable at checkout (passed through to the buyer).
The total price payable, including any applicable fees, will be clearly displayed before you confirm your purchase.
4.3 Free Tickets
Some events offer free ticket tiers. Free tickets are subject to the same terms as paid tickets regarding entry, cancellation, and acceptable use. Free tickets are issued on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability and capacity limits set by the event organiser.
4.4 Payment
All payments for paid tickets are processed securely by Stripe. V2E does not store your payment card details. By completing a purchase, you authorise Stripe to charge the displayed amount to your chosen payment method.
4.5 Confirmation
Upon successful payment (or free ticket claim), you will receive a confirmation email with your ticket details. This email serves as your ticket — please retain it. Tickets are also accessible via your V2E account.
4.6 Ticket Transfers
You may transfer your ticket to another person via the V2Events platform, subject to the transfer functionality being available for the specific event. Once a ticket has been transferred, the original purchaser relinquishes all rights to the ticket, including the right to request a refund.
4.7 No Statutory Cooling-Off Period
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the standard 14-day cooling-off period for distance contracts does not apply to the supply of services related to leisure activities where the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance (Regulation 28(1)(h)). Event tickets fall within this exemption. Accordingly, there is no statutory right of cancellation once your ticket purchase is confirmed.
This does not affect any voluntary refund policy that the event organiser may offer. Please see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.
5. Refunds and Cancellations
5.1 Refunds
Refund availability is determined by the event organiser on a per-event basis. Where refunds are enabled, you may request a refund through your V2E account. Refund requests are reviewed by the event organiser. For full details, please see our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
5.2 Non-Refundable Fees
For Partner events, the V2E platform fee is non-refundable when a refund is initiated by the buyer or at the organiser's discretion. Refunded amounts will be the ticket face value minus the V2E platform fee.
For V2E Original events, the V2E platform fee is refunded. Only Stripe payment processing fees (approximately 1.5% + 20p) are non-refundable.
5.3 Event Cancellation
If an event is cancelled by the organiser, you are entitled to a refund of the ticket face value (excluding V2E platform fees for Partner events). You will be notified by email if an event you hold tickets for is cancelled. Refunds for cancelled events will be initiated within 7 business days. If the organiser fails to process refunds within this period, V2E may intervene to facilitate the refund.
If V2E cancels an event (e.g. due to a breach of these Terms or applicable law), you will receive a refund of the full amount paid, including the V2E platform fee. Only Stripe payment processing fees are non-refundable in this case.
6. Partner (Event Organiser) Terms
6.1 Eligibility
To list events on V2E, you must apply for a Partner account and be approved by our team. You must provide accurate organisation details and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
6.2 Fees
V2E charges a platform fee of £0.50 + 4% per ticket sold. Stripe payment processing fees (approximately 1.5% + 20p per transaction) are absorbed by V2E and are included within the platform fee. Partners may choose to pass the V2E platform fee on to the buyer or absorb it themselves.
6.3 Payouts and Escrow
Partner payouts are processed via Stripe Connect. Partners must complete Stripe Connect onboarding to receive payouts.
For events where refunds are enabled, V2E holds ticket revenue in escrow (in V2E's Stripe account) until the event concludes and the payout is manually released by V2E. This protects ticket buyers in the event of cancellation. For events where refunds are disabled, funds are transferred to the Partner's Stripe account immediately upon purchase.
6.4 Event Responsibilities
Partners are solely responsible for:
- The accuracy of event listings (descriptions, dates, venues, images)
- Delivering the event as described
- Obtaining all necessary licences and permits (including premises licences under the Licensing Act 2003 for events serving alcohol)
- Compliance with health and safety regulations (including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and any relevant regulations)
- Managing guest lists and check-in processes
- Handling refund requests according to their stated refund policy
- Compliance with the Equality Act 2010 regarding accessibility and non-discrimination
6.5 Event Cancellation by Partners
If a Partner cancels an event, they are responsible for refunding all ticket holders the ticket face value (excluding V2E platform fees). V2E will facilitate this process through Stripe. If the Partner's Stripe balance is insufficient, V2E will notify the Partner and allow 7 business days to arrange the refunds. Failure to do so may result in V2E charging the Partner's connected payment method for the outstanding refund amounts.
6.6 Content
Partners retain ownership of their event content (descriptions, images, branding). By listing an event on V2E, Partners grant V2E a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute event information on the Platform and in promotional materials for the purpose of promoting the event and the Platform.
6.7 Rep (Affiliate) Programme
Partners may enable the Rep programme for their events, allowing approved individuals ("Reps") to promote events using unique referral codes.
- Rep commissions are set by the Partner on a per-tier basis and are deducted from the Partner's payout.
- V2E facilitates commission tracking and record-keeping but does not guarantee Rep payouts — the Partner is responsible for ensuring sufficient funds for commissions.
- Reps are not employees or agents of V2E or the Partner. They act as independent promoters.
- Reps must comply with these Terms and must not use misleading or deceptive marketing practices in violation of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform or other users' accounts
- Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
- Scrape or harvest data from the Platform without permission
- Resell tickets at a price higher than the original purchase price (in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Part 5, secondary ticketing provisions)
- Create fraudulent events or misleading listings
- Impersonate another person or organisation
- Use the Platform to send unsolicited marketing communications
8. Intellectual Property
The V2Events name, logo, design, and all original content on the Platform are the intellectual property of Version 2 Events Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
9. Limitation of Liability
V2E acts as an intermediary platform. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- V2E is not liable for the quality, safety, or legality of events listed by Partners.
- V2E is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the cancellation, postponement, or alteration of events by Partners.
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you have paid to V2E in platform fees in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any breach of the terms implied by section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979; or (d) any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable legislation.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time if you breach these Terms, subject to providing you with reasonable notice where practicable. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately, but provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including liability, intellectual property, and dispute resolution) will continue to apply.
If you hold valid tickets for upcoming events at the time of account termination, those tickets will remain valid for entry unless the event itself is cancelled.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or a prominent notice on the Platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Platform.
12. Dispute Resolution
If you have a complaint about the Platform or a transaction, please contact us at support@v2events.uk in the first instance. We will endeavour to resolve your complaint promptly.
If we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may refer the matter to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider. At the time of writing, we are not required to and do not participate in a formal ADR scheme, but we are committed to resolving disputes fairly and promptly.
Nothing in these Terms prevents you from exercising your legal rights, including your right to bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident in another part of the United Kingdom, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
14. General
14.1 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
14.2 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Refund & Cancellation Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and V2E regarding your use of the Platform.
14.3 Third-Party Rights
No person other than you and V2E shall have any rights under these Terms pursuant to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
14.4 Waiver
A failure or delay by V2E to exercise any right or remedy under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that (or any other) right or remedy.
